STEP #1
Concrete Prep and Profile:
Even though the concrete may be brand new in your house, regardless of age or condition, it must be prepped to accept the epoxy. A small layer of concrete (6-10 mils) is taken off by either an acid prep solution scubbed into the surface or a concrete grinding machine depending on the situation. It is triple rinsed and dryed with blowers. Usually performed in the morning, this takes 2-5 hours depending on square footage.

STEP #2
Epoxy Base Coat:
We don't use that cheap, water-based stuff you get from Lowe's or Home Depot. Ultimate Mancaves uses an industrial strength, comercial grade epoxy that will last for the life of your home. Its thicker, stronger, and frankly, more manly than that other junk. We apply epoxy with serated squeegees and back roll for smoothness after the floor has dried completely usually the same afternoon. Takes 2-4 hours depending on square footage. STEP #3
Color Chip Application:
This is where the ART meets the science. This is maybe the most difficult part of the application to master. While the Epoxy coat is still wet, we "broadcast" color chips onto the epoxy to add another layer giving the floor depth. It also camoflages any cracks or imperfections your floor may have. We generally broadcast chips medium, heavy or even full in some cases. You can choose from 6 base color options or go for the custom option as well.

STEP #4
Clear Coat Application:
In order to protect your new epoxy coating, Mancaves  applies either a high grade, industrial polyurethane, clear epoxy, or polyaspartic topcoat. It seals the floor and provides protection against; oil, grease, harsh chemicals, solvents, sand, and salt. Cleaning up spills is easy! Simply wipe with a damp cloth and dry.
